Pues bien, este avance prometedor se est\u00e1 gestando aqu\u00ed mismo en Chile y de la mano del renombrado cient\u00edfico Ricardo Maccioni.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Investigaci\u00f3n chilena en la vanguardia de la detecci\u00f3n del Alzheimer<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>La comunidad cient\u00edfica internacional (y el p\u00fablico en general) reaccion\u00f3 con entusiasmo ante los resultados del trabajo de Ricardo Maccioni.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pero \u00bfen qu\u00e9 consiste su investigaci\u00f3n? \u00bfPor qu\u00e9 tanta expectativa? En&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/blog.virginmobile.cl\/\">Naci\u00f3n Virgin<\/a>&nbsp;te explicamos los detalles&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">La tecnolog\u00eda &#8220;Alz Tau\u00ae&#8221;<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>De las cosas que se saben del Alzheimer es que&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.uchile.cl\/noticias\/153432\/comunidad-internacional-destaco-al-profesor-ricardo-maccioni\">la prote\u00edna TAU<\/a>&nbsp;al modificarse por efecto de otras enzimas cerebrales -en espec\u00edfico, la enzima llamada CDK5- desencadena la enfermedad. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lo novedoso es lo que han logrado mancomunadamente el Fondo de Fomento al Desarrollo Cient\u00edfico y Tecnol\u00f3gico, FONDEF IDeA y el Hospital Cl\u00ednico de la U. de Chile: un test de sangre que permite detectar la aparici\u00f3n del Alzheimer hasta con 10 a\u00f1os de anticipaci\u00f3n.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dicha prueba se llevar\u00eda a cabo con la tecnolog\u00eda \u201c<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.24horas.cl\/tendencias\/ciencia-tecnologia\/chileno-lidera-examen-que-permitiria-detectar-alzheimer-10-anos-antes-4463286\">Alz Tau\u00ae\u201d<\/a>, un kit que prepara la prote\u00edna plaquetaria, y otro que determina los niveles de la prote\u00edna TAU.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00bfC\u00f3mo funciona? En palabras del acad\u00e9mico \u201c<em>el biomarcador consiste en calcular especies de alto peso molecular y bajo peso molecular de la prote\u00edna TAU, que indica que en casos de Alzheimer domina la especie del alto, y eso tiene una correlaci\u00f3n con cerca del 90%\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No se ha inventado otra tecnolog\u00eda similar; por ejemplo, en EE. UU se ha inventado un equipo para la detecci\u00f3n temprana del Alzheimer, pero es de alto costo.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ricardo Maccioni, el l\u00edder del proyecto<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>El profesor del Departamento de Biolog\u00eda de la Facultad de Ciencias de la U. de Chile, Ricardo Maccioni ha sido la cabeza de este proyecto.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maccioni desde hace tiempo ha tenido el reconocimiento internacional como experto en el \u00e1rea de las neurociencias y su nuevo avance promete dar una mejor calidad de vida a los que sufrir\u00e1n de Alzheimer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En el marco internacional, el doctor Maccioni y su equipo de trabajo han obtenido el debido reconocimiento en la conferencia internacional \u201cDementia 2019\u201d, organizada por la Universidad de Harvard, y en donde se expusieron los \u00faltimos avances para contrarrestar el Alzheimer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Este trabajo no ha sido de un d\u00eda para otro, es el producto de 30 a\u00f1os en el que se ha intentado entender las consecuencias del envejecimiento cerebral en las personas.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En la actualidad, 400 mil chilenos sufren de Alzheimer, mal que generalmente surge alrededor de los 65 a\u00f1os.
